Digital Media, Booth 812
Nicole Krstin is a Calgary born Filipino-Canadian visual artist currently residing in Toronto. Nicole’s work explores how layered and juxtaposed imagery can transform subjects into visual forecasts of the future. Her current body of work focuses on natural landscapes that slowly deteriorate and devolve into fluid wastelands. As part of Nicole’s practice, paint left on her palette is dried, scanned, and meticulously edited to create digital compositions that are derivative of Nicole’s paintings. These pieces extend the theme of a transforming landscape perpetuated by human contributions to climate change, while fostering dialogue about how the use of artist materials impact our ecological footprint.
