Julia White

Installation Zone, Booth I-11

Julia White is a sculptor that brings form to the formless, creating dreamlike sculptural landscapes with her enigmatic abstract forms. She holds a BFA from Queen’s University where she began her artistic practice that is uninhibited, yet deliberately refined. In 2015 White received the Robert Kemp Award from the Blue Mountain Foundation for the Arts for ‘WATER Shadows’, an installation of sound sculptures that celebrates the mystery of water. The unique sculptures are made out of steel and discarded bicycle inner tubes  and feature field recordings of watery soundscapes in the Georgian Triangle area, where the artist lives on land with a marsh and two creeks.  White’s light sculptures were also featured in Guillermo del Toro’s hit tv series ‘the Strain’.
