Anne-Marie Groulx

Textile Art, UNTAPPED Emerging Artists, Booth U-14

Anne-Marie Groulx lives and works in Quebec City. After completing a Visual Arts degree (DEC) in 2009, she studied textile construction at the Maison des Métiers d’Art de Québec (MMAQ). She graduated in 2015, winning both the Grand Prix MMAQ and the Prix Telus Expression Textile. Groulx also received a grant from Première Ovation in 2015 to create a body of work which addresses both mass trends and the unicity of handmade. She uses her humorous weavings as a way to gather, document and archive elements from the current popular culture. Anne-Marie Groulx’s work has been showcased at the Canadian Guild of Craft (2015). The artist also runs her own small business, Le Serpentin, which offers playful decorative items and fashion accessories.
